Camp Discovery: 700 Palestinian Youth Build New Skills for Future

Today marks the final day of Camp Discovery, an American Consulate General program that opened new horizons for 700 Palestinian children in science, art, and culture. American Diplomat Gina Cabrera-Farraj explained, “Camp ‎Discovery is about the future and opening up new opportunities for Palestinian youth.”

The American Consulate General in Jerusalem, in partnership with AMIDEAST and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), sponsored for the ninth consecutive year the two-week “Camp Discovery” at UNRWA schools in ‎Ramallah, Hebron, Jenin, Nablus, Bethlehem and Gaza. Palestinian children between 8-14 developed skills in English language, artistic expression, scientific discovery, and team-building.

Ms. Cabrera-Farraj said, “We ‎are committed to supporting Palestinian education and youth empowerment through initiatives such as Camp Discovery. Camp Discovery is a powerful learning opportunity that empowers Palestinian students with new skills to make a new future.”
