BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION

Incumbent performs guard service to safeguard U.S. Government personnel and property. Duties include either walking or stationary post, performed on a rotating shift basis.  Services are required at any time of day or night, weekends or holidays, at any USG owned or leased facility within the municipality of Jerusalem.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  1. Education: Completion of Secondary School is required.
  2. Experience: At least one year of police, military or security experience is required.
  3. Language: Level III (Good working knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing in English and Level III (Good working knowledge) Speaking /Reading /Writing Arabic or Hebrew are required. (This will be tested)
  4. Must be able to work on a shift basis with minimal flexibility in the work schedule.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION

Qualifying with and carrying a Diplomatic Security-approved firearm is a requirement.

  4. Must be eligible for an Israeli weapons permit as per Israel National Police Requirements.

Position Title: EFM Econ Assistant

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION

The incumbent works in a full-time position serving as Economic Assistant within the Economic Section. Works on special projects as directed by the Deputy Economic Chief, which may also include overall responsibility for covering a specific sector of the Palestinian economy.  Provides administrative  support to the Economic Section staff including time and attendance records.  Monitors cable traffic, and relevant emails.  Manages electronic and paper files for the section.  Monitors progress of ongoing projects and generates status reports.  Serves as the Economic Section’s primary coordinator for VIP visits and representational events. Provides logistical and office support to staff and VIP visitors. Develops contacts with the appropriate officials and private/commercial organizations in order to assist Economic Officers with their projects and assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  1. Education: Two years college or university studies are required.
  2. Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in performing general management duties that include project coordination, liaising with internal and external clients, and analyzing and compiling data is required.

  4. Must have Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION

The incumbent maintains relationships with a wide range of Palestinian contacts in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, to include government officials, private sector leaders, civil society, and other diplomatic mission and international organizations. S/he produces daily analysis and updates on Palestinian economic developments, covering issues such as light industry, agriculture, trade, commercial legislation, environment, water, health and energy, and develops proposals for U.S. advocacy to improve conditions.  The incumbent reports through the Deputy Economic Chief to the Consulate General’s Economic Counselor.  S/he will less regularly engage directly with the Consul General and Washington-based policymakers.
