Statement by Consul General Michael A. Ratney on the Occasion of Eid Al Adha

On behalf of my colleagues at the American Consulate General in Jerusalem, I want to send my warmest wishes to Muslims in the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and Jerusalem on the occasion of Eid al Adha.

As we gather in our homes with friends and family to commemorate this feast day, let us pause to remember the virtue of making personal sacrifices for a cause greater than ourselves, such as helping those in need of achieving peace for future generations. It is a time of peace, of giving to those in need, and sharing with others.

At a time of great change and uncertainty across the region, the Consulate General is playing a vital role in assisting the Palestinian people through our various cooperative programs, from education exchanges and entrepreneurship development, to our vocational learning and infrastructure projects.

Let me wish everyone peace, happiness and unity during this special time.

Eid Mubarak and Hajj Mabrouk.
