American Consul General Ratney Sends Greetings on the Occasion of Ramadan

On behalf of the American Consulate General in Jerusalem, I want to send my warmest wishes to Muslims in the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and Jerusalem on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

During this time of prayer and fasting, we are reminded of the importance of charity, compassion, and self-sacrifice. These are values at the heart of Islam that are also shared by the other great monotheistic faiths of Judaism and Christianity. They are also treasured American values.

At a time of great change and uncertainty across the region, I am proud of the role the Consulate General is playing to help the Palestinian people through our various cooperative programs, from education exchanges and entrepreneurship development, to our vocational learning and infrastructure projects.

I wish you and your families a very happy holiday. Ramadan Kareem.
