The American Consulate General in Jerusalem and EducationUSA will host the sixth annual U.S. University Fair in Ramallah on February 26. The event will cater to young Palestinians interested in learning more about options for study in the United States.
The fair will be held at the Red Crescent Society Hall from 3:00-5:00 PM, and is part of the Consulate General’s goal of improving opportunities for Palestinians to pursue higher education and employment. Three hundred and thirty-one Palestinians studied in the United States during the 2012-2013 academic year, which represents an increase over past years.
The following American colleges and universities will participate in the University Fair: Columbia College, West Hills Community College, University of South Florida, Colorado State University, Marshall University, Oregon State University, State University of New York (SUNY) Albany, Foothill & DeAnza Colleges, and the International Culinary Institute.
Additionally, Consulate General staff will be on hand to answer questions about the visa application process, as well as provide information about exchange programs for Palestinians sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, including the English Access Microscholarship program (Access) for English language study, the Youth Exchange and Study program (YES) for high school students, and the Fulbright Foreign Student program (Fulbright) for post-graduate students at U.S. universities.
The U.S. University Fair is free and open to the public. For more information on educational advising services, please visit this website.
